Money-An Ointment of the Soul

“Money is the ointment of the soul; “so the saying goes. Enough of it can give you the attention of the world and your wildest dreams.

In my society people laugh loudest at jokes told by people with money. Personally, one of the five objectives of all my efforts in life is to accumulate enough of it to buy the whole of New York.

Surprisingly though,at one point I believed that money shouldn’t be such an important thing in life. But I woke up to a realization that: “mshivala nomenya, bila mapesa, olilangwa winaaa?” is a phrase in  luhya language that says: "you are nobody in this world if you don’t have money". And true who are you in the current society without money?

Looking at what Bill gates and his wife Melinda have been able to accomplish with money, I am  convinced that money is truly the ointment of the soul. In 2008 the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation gave $168.7 million to PATH for its Malaria Vaccine Initiative. The PATH Malaria Vaccine Initiative (MVI) is a global program established in 1999 through a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Currently the Path MVI is in the last stages of a malaria vaccine trial which if successful will see the eradication of one of the major killer diseases in sub-Saharan Africa,  a disease that I have personally declared war with.

With this in mind,  I think a life objective to acquire massive wealth is noble.
